When you need a document notarized, finding the time to travel to a notary office isn't always easy. Whether you have a busy work schedule, limited mobility, or an urgent situation, a mobile notary brings the service directly to you, making the process simple, convenient, and stress-free.

What Is a Mobile Notary?

A mobile notary is a licensed notary public who travels to a location that is convenient for the client to witness signatures, administer oaths, certify copies of documents, and perform other authorized notarial services. Instead of rearranging your day to visit an office, the notary comes to you.

We Come to You

One of the greatest advantages of a mobile notary is flexibility. Appointments can be arranged at a location that works best for you, including:

Your Home

Many clients prefer the comfort and privacy of their own home. Mobile notarization is especially helpful for:

  • Wills and Powers of Attorney

  • Affidavits and statutory declarations

  • Real estate documents

  • Family law documents

  • Parents with young children

  • Seniors who prefer not to travel

Having a notary visit your home allows you to complete important legal documents without leaving the house.

Your Office or Workplace

Busy professionals often don't have time to leave work during business hours. A mobile notary can meet you at your office before work, during your lunch break, or after business hours.

This is ideal for:

  • Employment documents

  • Corporate resolutions

  • Business contracts

  • Commissioner of Oaths services

  • Certified true copies

  • Affidavits

You can complete your notarization quickly and get back to your workday.

Hospitals and Care Facilities

When a loved one is in the hospital or living in a long-term care facility, important documents may need to be signed without delay.

A mobile notary can visit hospitals, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, retirement residences, and hospices to assist with documents such as:

  • Powers of Attorney

  • Consent forms

  • Affidavits

  • Insurance documents

  • Estate planning documents

These visits help families complete urgent paperwork during what can already be a stressful time.

Other Convenient Locations

Mobile notary appointments can also be arranged at:

  • Coffee shops

  • Libraries

  • Retirement homes

  • Assisted living facilities

  • Construction sites

  • Hotels

  • Community centres

If there is a safe, quiet place to review and sign documents, a mobile appointment can often be accommodated.

Why Choose a Mobile Notary?

Mobile notary services provide several benefits:

  • Convenience – No need to travel or wait in line.

  • Flexible scheduling – Evening, weekend, and same-day appointments may be available.

  • Time-saving – Continue with your day while the notary comes to you.

  • Accessibility – Ideal for seniors, individuals with disabilities, or anyone recovering from illness or surgery.

  • Privacy – Sign sensitive documents in a comfortable setting.

  • Reduced stress – Especially valuable during urgent family, medical, or legal situations.

Perfect for Busy Individuals and Families

Life is busy, and fitting another appointment into your schedule isn't always easy. A mobile notary allows you to complete important legal documents at a time and place that works for you, whether you're working from home, caring for family members, or managing a packed calendar.

DG Notary offers in-person and virtual commissioning and witnessing services in full compliance with Ontario's legal and regulatory requirements. Our services are carried out by licensed professionals, including commissioners for taking affidavits and other authorized individuals who are legally permitted to administer oaths, affirmations, and statutory declarations under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act (Ontario) and related legislation.

Please note that online or remote notarization is not yet explicitly regulated under Ontario law. Therefore, DG Notary does not offer online notarial services, including the digital notarization of documents. Any mention of terms such as “notary,” “online notary,” or “notarize online” on our website is used solely in an informal, descriptive context. These references apply only to our lawful remote commissioning and virtual witnessing services, which are separate from formal notarial acts.

DG Notary is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, representation, or legal opinions. While we assist with online commissioning and witnessing, we do not provide guidance regarding the legal validity, enforceability, or acceptance of documents.

If you need legal advice about executing or using a document, we recommend consulting a licensed lawyer or qualified legal professional. Before using our services, it’s also important to confirm whether the document will be accepted by the intended recipients—such as courts, government bodies, or other organizations—especially when executed electronically or remotely.
